Diesel engine gear repair method
1. Reversing method: For single-sided wear of the gear surface, if the structure allows, the gear can be changed position or turned 180 degrees to use its unworn side, but it is best to flip it in pairs, or replace the matching gear with a new one to ensure normal gear meshing.
2. Inserted gear gear method: The tower gear is made of several gears, and the degree of damage of each gear is different. If the teeth of individual gears are worn, they can be repaired by replacing the ring gear. First, all the teeth of the gear that need to be repaired are machined, and a ring gear is made and pressed onto the area where the teeth were machined. In order to prevent the new ring gear from loosening, electric spot welding can be used along the circumference at the joint between the ring gear and the gear, or stabilizing nails can be drilled and driven in to fix it.
3. Tooth inserting method: For gears with low load and low speed, after individual gear teeth are knocked out, during repair, a trapezoidal groove is planed out at the root of the bad gear on a planer, and a new tooth blank with the same groove shape is pressed in with a certain tightness, welded firmly, and processed and reshaped.
4. Overlay welding method: If individual or several gear teeth of the gear are worn or the wear on both sides of the tooth end exceeds the limit, one or more layers of metal can be surfacing on the entire or part of the surface of the gear according to the damage of the gear. Gear welding repair can be divided into electric welding and gas welding. Repairing gears by surfacing welding is easy to operate and the repair quality is good.
According to the thickness of the tooth root, select a screw with a corresponding diameter, and the thread length should not be shorter than 1.5-2 cm. Then use a bench drill to drill a hole with the same diameter as the screw in the toothed part of the gear, and then use a tap to tap. Tighten the selected screw into the screw hole, then use a hacksaw to cut off the part of the screw that is higher than the top of the tooth, and then use a file cutter to process it into teeth with the same tooth shape as the original, and you can use it.
